Convocation Ceremony of Language University held

Lucknow 22, March.The 6th convocation ceremony of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University was held today under the Chairmanship of the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and the Chancellor of the University Anandiben Patel. In this Convocation, Padma Shri  Malini Awasthi was present as the Guest of Honour.
A total of 734 students were awarded bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the convocation. The total 93 medals awarded include 25 Gold, 16 Silver and 16 Bronze in Undergraduate Courses and 14 Gold, 11 Silver and 11 Bronze in Post Graduate Courses. Apart from these medals, Syed Moinuddin, who secured first position in BA Honors course of Urdu Department, was awarded Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Medal, Vivek Kumar Singh, who secured first position in B.Ed course of Department of Education, was given Chancellor’s Medal and for the same course the Vice Chancellor’s Medal was awarded to student Shivani Singh.
In her remarks, the Chancellor, while congratulating all the students for their achievements, said that the purpose of education is not only to give information about the subjects. Through education, we develop the mental, professional, moral and spiritual powers of human beings. She said that India is the youngest country in the world and our graduates are in demand all over the world. She also said that there are many possibilities in the private sector and youth should train themselves to be service providers. Students should use their knowledge and energy in the right direction to realize their dreams and develop the country.
She further said that she was happy to note that the university has constituted various cells for the implementation of new education policy. She also said that the University should make special efforts for the preservation and propagation of languages ​​apart from teaching them as subjects. She asked the University to contribute in making the country TB free by adopting 25 TB affected children and also suggested to organize blood donation camps twice a year. Talking on World Water Day, she said that the university should also ensure to conserve the same quantity of water as is used over the year. Along with this, she appealed everyone to keep all non-essential electrical appliances in their house off for 1 hour between 8:30 to 9:30 on Earth Hour Day on 26 March.
In the progress report of the University, Vice Chancellor, Prof Alok Kumar Rai said that today is a very important day in the life of any university when it gives its students the certificates of their success. Reiterating the statement of Swami Vivekananda ,he said, “The education which cannot make an ordinary person capable in the struggle of life, which cannot bring in man the strength of character, good spirit and courage like a lion, is that also any education? If it makes you stand on your own feet, it is education.”
He told that despite COVID -19, 24% more admissions were done in the University than last year and for the promotion of languages, along with Urdu, Arabic, Persian, Hindi and English, Sanskrit and French languages ​​were also introduced from the current session. Apart from this, more than 40 other courses are being conducted in the university and some new professional courses have also been added from this session, including LLM and Masters courses under Engineering. The university is conducting its courses not only at the undergraduate level but also at the postgraduate level according to the New Education Policy 2020. He further told that taking forward the research work, in 2021, 20 books and 124 research papers were published by the teachers. Along with this, 6 patents and four Centers of Excellence were also obtained by the university.
He said that during COVID -19, the university continued teaching through both online and offline methods using YouTube channel and other e-learning sources. Apart from this, the university also gave free admission to students whose mother or father expired due to COVID.
While fulfilling its social responsibility, University also ensured community engagement  through education, health, social awareness, public relations and cultural programs etc.
In the end, he congratulated all degree recipients and expressed hope that they would prove their role meaningful in reconstruction of the society.
The Chief Guest, Padma Shri Malini Awasthi, while addressing the students said that the advice given by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Alok Rai, is a great mantra in itself.She further  said that a student’s religion is lifelong learning and if the student continues to learn, the quality of life will also be enriched. She referred to the message of oneness of God  given by Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti and said that “Tu ko Itna Mita Ki Tu Na Rahe”.  In the end she said that India is the land of multi-faceted culture and students should move ahead by respecting all the cultures and acquire knowledge continuously.
The program was conducted by Dr. Neeraj Shukla, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Commerce. Prof. Surya Prasad Dixit, Prof. Nishi Pandey, Prof. Poonam Tandon along with University teachers, members of academic Council and executive council attended the program.
